Dear Associations,
As Croquet New Zealand continues to grow, I wanted to take this opportunity to highlight the communication channels and why they are important.
As the diagram above illustrates, we have been extremely successful as a sport in recent years to grow to a significant size. Recently CNZ has been getting a number of queries from individuals and clubs ranging from generic questions, to levies, and database questions. With 19 Associations and 112 Clubs, this can become an enormous administrative task which then reduces the capacity for CNZ to support, grow and develop croquet.
Should Clubs have any queries, their primary point of contact should be with their Association. This is because we will share all information with Associations. If an Association cannot resolve a query, they can then raise it with CNZ, reducing the possible number of contact points from 131 (or more) to 19.
Not only will this assist with reducing the number of queries CNZ is receiving, it will help ensure CNZ and Associations are working together to help develop the sport in the regions and providing a united front on matters which Clubs may disagree with.
There are of course a number of items where I am happy for clubs to come directly to CNZ. These include (but are not limited to):
○ Ordering AHS cards.
○ Ordering PGG Wrightson Products.
○ Ordering Yearbooks/AC Laws Books/GC Rule Books (outside of the annual order).
These exceptions are due to the fact that they will be posted and, where applicable, invoiced directly to the Club.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could remind clubs that any queries should be directed to yourselves in the first instance, and if necessary, you will raise them with CNZ.
