Vaccine Passes no longer required
To all Clubs
Further to CNZ’s e-mail, sent to Club Secretaries dated June 1st 2022 regarding the Covid Protection Framework (CPF). (Posted on the home page).
The WCA Executive Committee has determined that all WCA Tournaments will be organised and managed consistent with CNZ and Sport NZ conditions i.e. vaccine passes will no longer be required for all players, officials, host Club assistants and spectators participating in these events. This requirement will be displayed on the WCA website and on future tournament flyers. Tournament Managers are to advise players accordingly.
Clubs organising their own tournaments are "encouraged" to follow the same guidelines for consistency.
Please advise the WCA Secretary of your Club’s decision in this respect so that this can also be recorded on the WCA website (Profiles page).

In this section you will find information on COVID-19, organisational resources and the detail of financial support available to the sector. The Government released its new COVID-19 Strategy on 12 September which outlines protection requirements to help keep New Zealand safe with COVID-19 in the community. This Strategy replaces the old Covid Protection Framework (CPF) or Traffic Light System that was in place previously.
There are no longer any restrictions for the Sport and Recreation Sector under the new COVID-19 Strategy. This means there are no longer any requirements around gathering or event numbers, mask wearing and vaccination certificates.
Post arrival testing has also been removed as a requirement for anyone flying into New Zealand (for example athletes and teams) however it is recommended they complete tests on day one and day five after arrival.
Household contacts no longer need to self-isolate for seven days, however it’s recommended that they test daily for a five day period.
You can view the new Strategy which includes information on masks and testing if you are a positive COVID-19 case here.

Background:
Covid-19 emerged on New Zealand shores in early 2020 and quickly disrupted the ‘normal’ way of life. With New Zealand going into lockdown on the 25th of March 2020, there was plenty of uncertainty around the impact this would have on the economy and what impact it might have on sporting organisations as we exited lockdown into the “new-world”. To assist with the Play, Active Recreation and Sport Sector’s response to the challenges of Covid-19, Sport New Zealand put together a proposal which sought to inject $265million into the Sector through three main categories; • Reset and Rebuild • Strengthen and Adapt • Different and Better This report focusses on the funding Croquet New Zealand received from Sport New Zealand to assist with the initial response through the Reset and Rebuild category.
