An important Change to the Tournament Regulations, which will be in effect for the upcoming WCA GC Interclub Tournament (Time limited games):
The relevant change is to be found at Regulation 9 of the Tournament Regulations and is as follows:
Regulation 9.6 is new to most of us and states:
9.6.1 After time has expired in a time-limited game, play continues for an extension period consisting of 2 full rotations of the four balls.
9.6.2 If the scores are tied following the extension period, the next hoop in order will be contested to determine the winner.
9.6.3 Tied games are not permissible.
9.6.4 No extra stroke is to be played during an extension period. Extra strokes may be played at the end of any subsequent turn if scores are tied at the end of the extension period.
Players are still adapting to these new rules which were introduced for the 2021/2022 season, we will all have to get used to completing any time limited games in a different way.
